LAPD Seeks Public's Help To Help Solve Stabbing Murder
LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — New evidence has surfaced regarding the stabbing murder of a 26-year-old man last month.
Roshon Dwayne Davis was stabbed to death -- in broad daylight -- on Wednesday, January 29 around 2:50 p.m.
Authorities said Davis was heard yelling for help while he was in the alley behind an apartment complex in the 3000 block of Gibraltar Avenue.
The victim's wife heard the calls for help, as did an on-duty LAPD Sergeant on patrol.
"They give me the strength to move forward," Davis' wife said. "Just for them, and I live for them. That's my life now."
The sergeant went to aid the victim and discovered that Davis had been stabbed.
The victim was able to tell the Sergeant that he had been attacked at the nearby gas station at the intersection of Coliseum Street and La Brea Avenue. Davis was transported to a local hospital by LAFD paramedics where he succumbed to his wound.
"I can't deal with it that he's gone," Davis' mother said. "And it's hard for me to even sleep, I don't really eat."
Investigators are hoping surveillance video, taken shortly before the stabbing occurred, might shed light on clues.
Detectives have been unable to identify any witnesses and are asking anyone who might have seen anything suspicious that day to contact them.
