LA City Council Tentatively Approves Rate Increases For DWP Customers
LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Angelenos could soon be paying more for water.
The Los Angeles City Council Wednesday tentatively approved rate increases for Department of Water and Power customers.
DWP says there will be increases over the next five years.
The typical user will pay about $21 more every month for water, and an extra $12 a month for power.
The money will be used to replace aging water lines.
If the proposal passes a second vote, the increase will start next month.
