Keep Kids Busy This Summer With Ideas From Westside Nannies' Heather Rash!

Heather Rash of Westside Nannies stopped by KCAL9 Wednesday to show viewers easy craft and activity ideas to keep kids busy this summer — without breaking the bank!
Sock Bubble Craft Idea:
The mixture of construction and "bubble magic" makes this a great outdoor summer activity.
What you'll need:
- Empty Water Bottle
- Duct Tape
- Sock (Find one that's missing its match!)
- Dish Soap
- Food Coloring
- Scissors
How to assemble:
- Cut the bottom off the water bottle
- Place a sock over and duct tape or rubber band
- Dip in a mixture of dish soap & water
- Add food coloring to the sock to add color to the bubbles. Try a rainbow!
Veggie Stamps Idea:
What you'll need:
- Acrylic or water-based paints
- Paper plates
- Sheet of butcher paper or newspaper
- Assorted veggies: bell peppers, lettuce heads, apples work well
How to assemble:
- Lay the paper out in the driveway and pour paints onto paper plates
- Slice veggies length-wise; remove any seeds or stems
- Dip vegetables, cut-side down, into paint; stamp onto paper
- Use the completed paper to cover your picnic table or kid's meal table!
