Jazzy Davidson scores 24 and Trojans top Indiana 79-73 for fifth-straight win

Jazzy Davidson had a team-high 24 points as the Trojans stormed to their fifth-straight win on Thursday night, 79-73 over the Indiana Hoosiers. 

USC got off to a slow start on the night and was trailing 24-13 after the first quarter of play. They were able to close the gap with a 22-point second quarter and head to the half down by just two points. 

The Trojans scored 44 points in the second half as three players scored in double digits, including Davidson. Kennedy Smith had 15 points and Kara Dunn tallied 16 with six rebounds. 

They shot just 15.8% from 3-point range, making three of the 19 shots they took from beyond the arc. The Hoosiers, on the other hand, shot 42% from three and 48% on the day. 

The Hoosiers had 16 turnovers to USC's seven and were able to grab just four offensive rebounds to the Trojan's 13. 

Maya Makalusky led all scorers with 29 points. Three other Hoosiers players also had double-digit points, including Edessa Noyan (12), Nevaeh Caffey (11) and Lenée Beaumont (10). 

With the win, USC is now 16-9 and 8-6 in Big Ten Conference play. They currently sit at ninth in the standings. Indiana falls to 14-12 on the year and is just 3-12 in conference play.
