Homeless Man, 52, Held In Homicide Of Fellow Transient

VENICE (CBS) — A homeless man was arrested on suspicion that he killed another transient in Venice, according to authorities.

Frank Smith, 52, was arrested in an attack that left a man fatally injured in the 600 block of Rose Avenue on Thursday, according to Los Angeles police at the Pacific Section.

The next day, an eyewitness called police to say that they had seen the dead man get punched and fall to the pavement, where he hit his head, police said

The victim, whose name was being withheld until his next of kin could be notified, died at a hospital on Sunday.
