Father's Day Reflections: Greg Mills of CBS2/KCAL9
Being a father is definitely the most gratifying part of my life. I thought it would be easier when the kids moved out, but it isn't. Although I am no longer involved in their everyday life I find nothing has really changed. I'm thrilled to share in their every success. Still pretty bummed when things aren't going as well as they want. As a dad you wish you could fix everything for them. I couldn't do it when they were kids. They wouldn't want me to do it now.

My dad believed a parent's role was to turn out 'good citizens'. He and my mom (both still very active, thankfully!) are definitely proud of the 5 'good citizens' they raised. My dad didn't share my love of sports, but did coach my Little League team one year. And, he passed along his handyman skills to a very reluctant son who can now fix most, if not all, household items.
My wife, Jennifer and I are equally proud of our children. Heather longed to be a ballerina growing up. Injuries dashed those hopes. Her talents are now showcased on KOB-TV in Albuquerque, NM as a news anchor and reporter. Our son, Chris is very creative (takes after his mom) and is a Web Designer here in Los Angeles and a very talented artist. He also loves to work on cars and his motorcycle. Those are traits he inherited from my dad. Certainly not from me!
