Family Pleads For Information On Monterey Park Stabbing

MONTEREY PARK (CBS) — Police are seeking the public's help in solving the murder of Ivan Anders.

Anders, 26, was stabbed and killed at a birthday party Sunday at the 1400 block of South Garfield Avenue in Monterey Park.

The family held a press conference Thursday morning asking anyone with information to come forward.

"We don't want this person out there to be able to harm anyone ever again," Juan Anders, the brother of Ivan Anders, said.

Police say that the murderer was an uninvited guest at the party. He had fought with Anders before he came back and stabbed him in the stomach. According to reports, the suspect took off in a dark blue Honda civic.

Anders was the youngest of four brothers and was studying to become a priest and teacher.
