Face The Music!? Police Say They Caught Store Robber In The Act
WESTMINSTER (CBS) — A Long Beach man was arrested by Westminster police officers Thursday minutes after they caught him allegedly carrying instruments stolen from a music store.
Michael Alan Schulz, 44, was booked on suspicion of commercial burglary, vandalism and resisting arrest.
Police said he was caught in the act at Orange County Music, 6512 Westminster Blvd., about 7:30 a.m.
Westminster Police Department Det. Cameron Knauerhaze said that while responding to a burglary alarm at the store, Westminster officers saw Schulz walking out of the back door with several pieces of expensive music equipment.
Schulz ran when he saw the officers, but they caught up to him a few minutes later at a nearby church where he was trying to hide, Knauerhaze said.
Police were still seeking a second suspect, Knauerhaze said.
Most of the equipment was returned to the store, but the second suspect is believed to have two guitars that are missing, Knauerhaze said.
