Coroner Identifies Motorcyclist Killed In Santiago Canyon Crash
SANTIAGO CANYON (CBSLA.com) — Authorities Saturday released the name of a motorcyclist who was killed in a collision involving a vehicle in Santiago Canyon.
Christopher Harty of Mission Viejo died Friday afternoon following the 3:55 p.m. crash on Santiago Road just east of Irvine.
The 23-year-old was traveling at speeds of approximately 65 to 75 miles per hour when he collided with a 2007 Toyota, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Harty was ejected from his bike and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the Toyota, described as a 38-year-old woman, was taken to Mission Hospital where she was treated for minor injuries.
City News Service reports that she was not charged or arrested, citing a statement from the CHP.
