Bus Search Fails To Find Bank Robbery Suspect
LOS ANGELES (CBS) — Police surrounded a bus near Los Angeles Country Club Tuesday in search of a bank robber, but a search of the vehicle failed to turn up the suspect.
Officers were searching for a suspect in the 2:10 p.m. robbery of a City National Bank near Wilshire Boulevard and Comstock Avenue, according to Los Angeles Police Department Officer Karen Rayner.
She said the robber tried to get on a nearby bus, prompting police to surround the vehicle and search it, but the suspect eluded officers.
It was unclear how much money the robber got away with, Rayner said.
