Body Found Inside Hawaiian Gardens Liquor Store
HAWAIIAN GARDENS (CBS) — An investigation was under way following the discovery of a body inside a liquor store in Hawaiian Gardens.
Authorities responded to the business in the 12300 block of Carson Street after receiving a call at 5:45 p.m. Monday of a suspicious death.
Upon arrival, authorities discovered the business owner's body bound and gagged in a freezer inside the store.
Employees, who work next door, described the victim as a Korean man in his 40s who may have had a gambling problem.
They tell CBS2's Stacey Butler that the owner would close his business sometimes for days at a time and rarely socialized.
Investigators say it's possible that the owner was killed on another day.
In an ironic twist, the former owner of the same business was also murdered inside the store a number of years ago.
