Barcelona-Real Madrid Match To Feature 'Highest Security Operation' In Sporting Event History

LOS ANGELES ( — The upcoming soccer match between FC Barcelona and Real Madrid will have unprecedented security, according to Spain's interior ministry.

Following the recent Isis terror attacks in Paris, security at the Bernabeu Stadium in Madrid will be at an all-time high.

"El Clasico" draws a global audience of over 400 million people, and is one of the most-watched sporting events of the year.

Spain's secretary of state for security Francisco Martinez confirmed police numbers would be at least doubled for the event.

Spain's terror threat level is already at a four out of five rating amidst the recent terror attacks.

The game is set to take place on Saturday, November 21th at 9:15 AM PT.

Spanish Interior Minister Jorge Fernadez Diaz had already ruled out postponing the match amidst the terror attacks.

"Security will be greatly reinforced. There will be a lot of security personnel to control not only the access to the stadium, but also the outskirts and the transport that will bring fans to the stadium," Diaz said.
