Anaheim police surrounded a BMO building after a bank robbery Wednesday afternoon.

Officers placed themselves on each corner of the building and closed a nearby intersection at E. Palma Avenue and Lakeview Avenue while the suspect robbed the bank.

The suspect held at least one person hostage during the standoff. The suspect brought the hostage into a room inside the bank and told officers he was armed with a gun.

After about an hour, officers led the two out of the bank at about 6:00 p.m. but did not recover a weapon. The Anaheim Police Department arrested one suspect, 53-year-old Eric Gray. He has been booked for several offenses, including robbery, kidnapping, false imprisonment, and parole violation.

The victim did not sustain any injuries.

The FBI knew of the situation but allowed the Anaheim police to take the lead.
