A Quick Guide To Orange County Museums

There are so many great museums in Orange County, it can be overwhelming. Here's a list that will give you a broad sample, of everything from large art museums, to tiny one car train museums, WWII vehicles and children's museums. All of them have something for every member of the family. Many have sponsored free days, so they really are available to everyone.

Fall Exhibit, Tell Me a Story, encourages children to explore several fables from different cultures and to try out some different ways to communicate a story. They can listen to tales, act out a tale, dress up for a tale or write their own tale! Any choice is great fun and a great opportunity to learn all about the art of Story Telling.

The Marconi Automotive Museum has an impressive collection of historical, exotic, and classic cars. The collection includes, but is not limited to, Super Bikes, Open Wheel Racing Cars American Muscle Cars, Vintage Racing and High Performance Exotics. Tours last about 30-45 minutes including brief history of the museum and collection (all cars have placards). Tours are self-guided unless a guided tour is requested.

Red Car Museum

The Red Car Museum is inside authentic Pacific Electric Right of Way. Car No. 1734 is a rare Pacific Electric tower car built in 1925. The Red Car in Seal Beach is not a large museum by any means. Guests are invited to sit and watch a video documenting what the Red Car ride would have been like during its operations between 1904 and 1950s or close to it.
