$50K Reward Offered For Information In Pacoima Double Hit-And-Run

PACOIMA (CBS) — Authorities Tuesday plan to hold a news conference to announce a $50,000 reward in double hit-and-run crash that killed a 79-year-old woman back in March.

The victim, identified as Virginia Ramirez of Pacoima, was struck while crossing Glenoaks Boulevard and Mercer Street in an unmarked crosswalk.

The accident happened about 6:30 a.m. on March 17.

According to authorities, Ramirez was first struck by male Hispanic driver in a red 1998-2000 red Nissan pick-up truck. Police believe he is between the ages of 35 to 45.

While on the ground, she subsequently was struck by a second vehicle, possibly a white 1997-2001 Chevrolet Monte Carlo. The driver of that car is believed to be a Hispanic female, approximately 25 to 35 years old.

Both drivers failed to stop and give assistance, according to police.

Anyone with information regarding these hit-and-run drivers was asked to contact Officer Jennifer Ward of the Valley Traffic Division at (818) 644-8114 or 1-877-LAPD-24-7.
