3 Masked Men Rob Tustin Jeweler And Take 'Significant Amount'
TUSTIN (CBS) — Three masked men robbed a Tustin jeweler Friday afternoon and police said the thieves got away with a "significant amount."
The robbery occurred inside the District at Tustin Legacy shopping center.
Tustin Police Lieutenant Tom Tarpley said a jeweler was parking his red Hyundai Elantra near a Whole Foods store just after 2 p.m.
Tarpley said one of the men smashed the car's window and took a "significant amount" of gems from the vehicle with the driver still inside the vehicle.
The police believe these three men are also responsible for robbing a jeweler earlier this month at Irvine Boulevard and Robinson Drive.
The man robbed today had a cut to his chin but his injury is not believed to be serious, said Tarpley.
The worth of the stolen items was not disclosed.
