2 Murrieta High School Students Arrested On Suspicion Of Sexual Assault

MURRIETA ( — Two high school students were in custody Monday after being arrested on suspicion of sexual assault.

The suspects, who attend Vista Murrieta High School, were arrested Sept. 12 and booked at Southwest Juvenile Hall, according to Murrieta police.

One of the suspects, Kishawn Holmes, 17, was a rising football star with hopes of playing college football. Instead, he is due to make his first court appearance on Tuesday.

A school officer launched an investigation on Aug. 29 before turning it over to the police department several days later.

"All suspects in this investigation have been contacted by detectives and arrested," Murrieta Police Lt. Tony Conrad said in a statement.

Murrieta Valley Unified School District spokeswoman Karen Parris said there is more than one alleged victim.

The father of one of the alleged victims released a statement on Monday, which read, "I will say to have your child attending a school that's in fear and harassed by others is simply not fair, and we will just wait to see the outcome at the hearing tomorrow."

The alleged assaults did not occur on campus or at a school-connected event, Parris added.

"It should be noted, the school district and the police department make campus safety a high priority," Conrad said. "Vista Murrieta High School is a safe campus and the sexual assault incidents revealed during this investigation occurred off campus."

According to the Riverside District Attorney's office, there are a total of six alleged victims.
