11-Year-Old Dance Prodigy From Walnut Has Big Dreams After Lady Gaga Video Goes Viral

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — An 11-year-old dance prodigy from Walnut has become an internet sensation thanks to a YouTube video that shows him performing a routine to Lady Gaga's Applause.

Sean Lew told CBS2's Rachel Kim he's loved to dance since he can remember. And now the entire country knows after a video of him in dance class at The Movement Lifestyle in North Hollywood went viral.

"It was such a good combo, and a good song, good combination," he said of the routine choreographed by Miguel Zarate.

Sean started to dance when he was four. By age six, he was a professional, performing in popular TV shows and commercials.

He says the stage is where he feels at home.

"I love to make people say, 'My gosh, this is so cool!' That is something I want to do when I grow up. I just want to entertain people," he said.

"It's not something where you can describe it, it's only something you can feel."

Sean's performance garnered so much attention he was asked to do his dance on the Queen Latifah Show.

"I got to the stage and there was all of these audience [members] and Queen Latifah introduced me and I did the dance. She came over and she was so nice," he said.

Sean even taught the actress some moves.

"She was good!" he smiled.

The 11-year-old's biggest fan throughout his journey has been his mother, Miya Lew, who says that her son has never wavered from his dancing dreams.

"I always tell him, go by your heart. But I also tell him that if you start it, don't stop," she said.

Sean says he has no plans of slowing down.

"Now I'm here [to] show 'em what I got!" he said.

Sean's appearance on the Queen Latifah Show will air Friday on CBS2.
