11 Protesters Arrested For Allegedly Assaulting Police At Occupy Riverside Rally
RIVERSIDE (CBS) — Police say 11 "Occupy Riverside" protesters were arrested Sunday afternoon after refusing to move their tents off Main street.
After allegedly refusing to comply with the order, the eleven were charged with assault with a deadly weapon, assault on a police officer, and resisting arrest, according to John Carpenter of the Riverside Police Department.
CBS2's Ann Sterling, reporting from the Riverside County Jail where protesters moved their noisy demonstration, said they vowed to stay their ground until all eleven were released.
Many protesters told Sterling police, in their words, "were aggressive."
