A MAY DAY TO START MARCH

The new month marks the start of Meteorological Spring and it comes in like a lamb. Highs should top out easily in the 80° range, some areas might even approach the mid-80's. The winds will pick up this afternoon, a breezy 2nd half of the day with a wind SSW 15-20mph. These winds will continue into the early evening before diminishing.

MILD NIGHT, MILD FRIDAY

With a few clouds and a steady south wind lows should drop only to around 60° in the metro area (the typicaly HIGH this time of year is 64°). A cold front arrives in the mid-morning, turning the south winds to the west. Temperatures will still get to the low-to-mid 70's.  There will be some rain from  this front but it'll be east of the metroplex. The chance is also a mere 20%. We've leaped right back into dry weather after the the 6th wettest winter on record.  Another severe weather outbreak is forecast for the Tennessee and Kentucky tomorrow, the SPC puts a large swath of Moderate Risk (in the red) for Friday afternoon:

NICE WEEKEND AHEAD

We'll have ample sunshine on Saturday but winds will be from the north all day. Highs will stay in the low 60's (the coldest day in the 7-day outlook). Winds will be around NNW 15-20mph so a bit of a chill in the morning air (a low in the low-40's).

Sunday will start chilly with lows in the upper 30's. Than as winds turn to the west and the sun shines, highs will leap to around 70 degrees. Nice!

MILD NEXT WEEK AS WELL

No shots of cold weather or storms to start next week. Highs Monday-Wednesday in the low 70's. Windy on Tuesday and Wednesday as clouds gather. Rain chances finally return to our area on Wednesday. Storms are possible with these event.
