ARLINGTON, TX (CBSDFW.COM) -- A school bus caught fire Monday while transporting four students from one high school to another to attend classes according to the Arlington, TX Independent School District.

Arlington ISD Director of Communications, Leslie Johnston said via email, "The bus was driving west on Sublett [Road] when the driver noticed smoke and pulled over."

The students were not injured and were picked up by another bus that was driving by at the time.

Johnston said after transferring the students to the other bus, the driver "tried to continue driving the bus (that was smoking) a little further before the smoke got worse and the flames started."

Johnston said the bus was an old diesel bus that was used for substitute purposes only.
