Detroit moves forward with demolishing Packard Plant. What's next for the site?
On Monday afternoon, crews began knocking down another portion of the massive Packard Plant on Detroit's east side. The city plans to save some of the buildings to preserve the plant's history and, over the next two months, will put out a call for ideas so perhaps another auto supplier or business can resurrect the iconic footprint.
