Gregory Green faces life in prison if convicted as charged.
Police say Faith Green was stabbed, shot and forced to watch as her children were murdered.
Barefooted and clad in an orange jumpsuit, Gregory Green spoke only once, telling the judge: "I don't need bond, I don't think I deserve it."
Records show a man suspected of killing two young children and two teenagers at his home served 16 years in prison for second-degree murder.
"It's a tragedy and it's unbelievable. I can't fathom as to what would be the motivation to do something like this."
