Windsor man charged with child sexual assault flees to Michigan, police say
A 30-year-old man under house arrest fled Canada to Michigan after being charged with the sexual assault of a child, Windsor Police Service says.
In December 2025, Daymien Alexander Kennedy was released on bail while facing multiple charges that stem from four separate incidents, police say.
Kennedy's charges include sexual assault, sexual interference, three counts of assault with a weapon, publishing an intimate image without consent, two counts of mischief and uttering threats, police say.
According to authorities, the incidents include the alleged sexual assault of a 6-year-old girl, an assault on a woman using a hot torch lighter, an assault in which a woman was threatened and cut with a knife, as well as publishing intimate images of a woman online without her knowledge or consent.
In April 2026, Windsor police bail compliance officers conducted a routine compliance check and found that Kennedy had fled to Michigan while being on house arrest.
Authorities say Kennedy is wanted for failure to comply with a release order. After unsuccessful attempts to locate him, investigators are seeking the public's assistance in determining Kennedy's whereabouts.
Anyone with information on Kennedy's whereabouts is asked to contact the Windsor Police Service Offender Management Unit at 519-255-6700, ext. 4390. To provide anonymous tips, contact Windsor and Essex County Crime Stoppers at 519-258-8477 (TIPS) or online at catchcrooks.com.
