Two Bodies Found In Burned-out Detroit Home

DETROIT (WWJ) - Two bodies are found inside of a burned-out home on Detroit's west side Sunday morning.

A few neighbors stood around watching as Detroit Police investigators combed through the burned-out home on Westmoreland, near Seven Mile Road and Evergreen, where the two bodies were found inside. It's early in the investigation, but one officer told WWJ's Beth Fisher they may have been squatters in a vacant home.

Most neighbors wouldn't talk, but one man said they believe the fire was set. Beth asked him if it was a vacant house. "Well, like I said, I don't be around here ... the only thing I try to do is come and feed my family; come in the house and leave. I don't talk to nobody cause I don't know nobody around here, but my man next door; that's it."

A police officer told Beth the cause of the fire is undetermined and another investigator told her the bodies were burned beyond recognition.
