Traffic Alert: Weekend Road Work
DETROIT (WWJ) - Know before you go! The kids will be headed back to school soon, so don't waste one of the last weekends of summer vacation stuck in a traffic jam.
The following activities are scheduled. As always, some of this work may be postponed due to adverse weather.
I-696:
In Macomb County, eastbound and westbound I-696 will have double lane closures between Groesbeck and Van Dyke from 9 pm Friday until 5 am Saturday for ongoing bridge work.
I-75:
In Oakland County, the northbound and southbound I-75 ramps to eastbound M-59 will be closed from 5 am Saturday to 7 pm Sunday for ongoing construction on M-59. Detours will be posted.
I-94:
In Harper Woods/Detroit, westbound I-94 will be closed from 8 Mile Road to Gratiot Ave. from 10 pm Friday until 8 am Saturday, and again from 10 pm Saturday to 8 am Sunday for overnight resurfacing work. During the closure, all traffic will be directed to Gratiot Ave.
In Detroit, the westbound I-94 ramp to northbound M-10 will be closed from 8 pm Friday until 5 am Monday for pavement repair. A detour will be posted.
M-10 (Lodge Freeway):
In Detroit, southbound M-10 will have rolling double lane closures from 8 Mile to Howard Street from 7 am to 3 pm Saturday for bridge inspections.
In Detroit, northbound M-10 will have rolling double lane closures from Howard Street to 8 Mile Road from 7 am to 7 pm Saturday for bridge inspections.
In Detroit, northbound and southbound M-10 will have rolling double-lane closures between Howard Street and 8 Mile Road from 7 am to 7 pm Sunday for bridge inspections.
In Detroit, southbound M-10 will have two lanes closed under Cobo Hall nightly beginning at 9 pm and ending by 5 am the following mornings starting Sunday until Sept 1.
M-5:
In Oakland County, northbound and southbound M-5 will have a single lane closed between Haggerty and Grand River from 6 am Saturday to 8 pm Sunday for road work.
In Oakland County, southbound M-5 from 14 Mile to 13 Mile roads will be reduced to a single lane from 7 am to 3 pm Sunday for permit work.
M-3 (Gratiot Ave):
In Macomb County, northbound M-3, from 14 to 16 mile roads, and southbound M-3, Wellington Crescent to 14 Mile roads, will have two lanes closed from 6 am to 5 pm Saturday for maintenance.
In Macomb County, northbound M-3 will have two lanes closed from 14 to 16 Mile roads from 6 am to 3 pm Sunday for maintenance.
M-59 (Hall Road):
In Oakland County, the eastbound M-59 ramp to southbound I-75 will be closed from 5 am Saturday to 7 pm Sunday for rehabilitation. A detour will be posted.
In Macomb County, westbound M-59 from Hayes to Van Dyke will have two lanes closed from 9 pm Saturday until 5 am Tuesday for pavement repair.
M-39 (Southfield Freeway):
In Wayne and Oakland Counties, M-39 will remain closed between the Lodge Freeway and I-96 until late October.
US-12 (Michigan Ave):
In Wayne County, the left three lanes of westbound US-12 will be closed from Mercury Drive to Evergreen Road in the city of Dearborn from 6 am to 5 pm Saturday for bridge work over the Rouge River.
