Traffic Alert: Weekend Road Work
DETROIT (WWJ) – The weekend is here again, which means construction crews are going to be out in full force.
The following road work projects have been announced by MDOT. As always, some of this work may be postponed due to weather.
Reminder: I-275 south is closed from I-696/I-96/M-5 to 5 Mile Road through July. Detour east I-696 to south M-10 to south M-39 to west I-96.
I-75:
In Oakland County, north and south I-75 south of Auburn Road, will be closed for 15 minute stoppages 7 a.m. to noon Saturday for utility work. Expect delays.
In Oakland County, south I-75 from Clintonville to Giddings, two lanes closed 10 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday for construction. Expect delays.
In Oakland County, south I-75 from Giddings to Clintonville, two lanes closed nightly 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. Monday through Friday for construction.
In Oakland County, north and south I-75 ramps to east I-696 closed 6 a.m. to noon Saturday for utility work.
I-94:
In Wayne County, east and west I-94 between Middlebelt and Telegraph, nightly lane closures 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Saturday for lighting.
In Macomb County, east I-94 at Martin Road, shoulder work 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday for maintenance. East and west Martin over I-94, one lane closed 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday for maintenance.
In Macomb County, east I-94 from 8 Mile to 11 Mile, single lane closure 9 p.m. Thursday to 5 a.m. Wednesday for utility work.
I-96:
In Wayne County, west I-96 local lanes at Evergreen will have one lane open 5 a.m. to noon Saturday for bridge work. West I-96 ramp to south Evergreen will be closed 5 a.m. to noon Saturday. Evergreen to east I-96 closed 5 a.m. to noon Saturday.
In Wayne County, east I-96 ramp to Schaefer/Grand River (between Oakman and Livernois) will be closed intermittently, 9 p.m. Thursday to 5 a.m. Friday and 9 p.m. Monday to 5 a.m. Tuesday for lighting.
In Wayne County, west I-96 ramp to Greenfield will be closed intermittently, 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Saturday for lighting. Greenfield ramp to east I-96, will be closed intermittently 9 p.m. Monday to 5 a.m. Tuesday for utility work.
In Wayne County, east I-96 Express Lanes ramp to M-8 (Davison), ramp closed intermittently 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Saturday for lighting.
In Wayne County, east and west I-96 from M-8 (Davison) to West Grand Boulevard, daily shoulder closures 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Thursday for lighting.
In Wayne County, east and west I-96 Local and Express Lanes from Schaefer to M-8 (Davison), daily shoulder closure 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Thursday for lighting.
In Wayne County, Wyoming Avenue ramp to west I-96, will be closed intermittently 9 p.m. Thursday to 5 a.m. Friday for lighting.
I-696:
In Oakland County, west I-696 will be closed from M-10/US-24 to I-275 from 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday for construction. All entrance ramps to west I-696 closed; Lahser, Telegraph, M-10, Franklin, 11 Mile, Orchard Lake, etc.
In Oakland County, west I-696, east of Lahser Road, left two lanes closed from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday.
In Macomb County, east I-696 from Dequindre to M-97 (Groesbeck), one lane closed 9 p.m. Monday to 5 a.m. Saturday for utility work.
Jefferson Ave:
In Wayne County, east and west Jefferson between Woodward and I-375, daily lane closures 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday for sign work.
In Wayne County, east Jefferson between Griswold and St. Antoine, moving lane closure 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday for sign work.
M-1 (Woodward):
In Oakland County, north and south M-1 (Woodward) from Big Beaver/Quarton to Square Lake has one lane open 7 p.m. Friday to 8 p.m. Saturday and 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday for construction. Expect delays.
In Wayne County, north and south M-1 (Woodward) from McNichols to Tuxedo St/Tennyson Street will be closed for parade. All side streets entering M-1 are also closed at John R or 2nd Street from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.
M-8 (Davison):
In Wayne County, east M-8 (Davison) ramp to M-1 (Woodward), will be closed 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday for a parade.
M-10:
In Oakland County, south M-10 from Lahser to 9 Mile, one lane closed 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday to Thursday for lighting.
In Wayne County, north M-10 ramp to east M-8 (Davison) will be closed 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. Sunday for road work.
In Wayne County, north M-10 ramp to west M-8 (Davison) will be closed 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday for road work.
In Wayne County, east and west Oakman Blvd over M-10, intermittent lane closures 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday for bridge work. At least one lane each way will be open each way.
In Wayne County, north M-10 ramp to 7 Mile will be closed intermittently 9 p.m. Monday to 5 a.m. Tuesday for lighting. 7 Mile ramp to north M-10, ramp will close intermittently.
M-39 (Southfield Fwy):
In Wayne County, north M-39 from McNichols to Outer Drive, right lane closed 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday for bridge work. Also, McNichols ramp to north M-39 closed.
M-59:
In Oakland County, east M-59 to south I-75 ramp closed 7 a.m. to noon Saturday for utility work.
In Oakland County, M-59 (Huron Road) at Johnson St, closed 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday for utility work.
In Macomb County, north and south Utica over M-59, one lane closed 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Thursday for maintenance.
M-85 (Fort Street):
In Wayne County, north M-85 from Stewart St to M-39 (Southfield), road closed 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday for parade.
