Traffic Alert: Weekend Road Work

ANN ARBOR (WWJ) - WWJ Traffic Reporter Terry T. Brown said to expect delays this weekend if you're driving on M-14 between the Wayne and Washtenaw county-line, as only one lane is open in each direction near US-23.

Know before you go! It will be a beautiful fall weekend -- perfect for taking a drive and enjoying the colors of the season. Before heading out, check traffic conditions and plan your route to avoid backups.

The following projects were announced by MDOT. As always, some of this work may be postponed due to weather.

I-275:

In Wayne County, the right two lanes of southbound I-275 will be closed from Ford to Cherry Hill roads from 7 p.m. Friday until 11 a.m. Saturday for maintenance. This was scheduled last week but was postponed due to rain.

I-696:

In Macomb County, the two left lanes of eastbound and westbound I-696 will be closed between Groesbeck and Van Dyke from 9 p.m. Friday until 5 a.m. Monday for ongoing bridge work.

In Macomb County, the left lane will be closed on eastbound and westbound I-696 between Van Dyke and Mound from 9 p.m. Friday until 5 a.m. Monday for sign foundation work.

I-75:

In Detroit, the ramp from eastbound and westbound Davison to northbound I-75 will be closed from 8 p.m. Friday until 8 p.m. Saturday for maintenance. Detours will be posted.

In Oakland County, the northbound and southbound I-75 ramps to westbound M-59 will be closed from noon until 3 p.m. Sunday for ongoing resurfacing work on M-59. A detour will be posted.

I-94:

In Wayne County, the two right lanes of eastbound I-94 will be closed at Belleville Road from 8 p.m. Friday until 7 a.m. Sunday. From 7 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. Sunday, only the right lane will be closed. After 12:30 p.m. it will be a double lane closure until 5 a.m. Monday.

In Detroit, the ongoing resurfacing and bridge repair project will result in the following lane restrictions on the city's east side:

• From 9 p.m. Friday until 8 a.m. Saturday, the right and center lanes of westbound I-94 closed from Whittier to Conner
• From 8 a.m. until 9 p.m. Saturday, the left lane of eastbound I-94 closed from Nottingham to Lochmoor
• From 9 p.m. Saturday until 8 a.m. Sunday, the left and center lanes of eastbound I-94 closed from Nottingham to Lochmoor
• From 8 a.m. until 9 p.m. Saturday, the left lane of westbound I-94 closed from Whittier to Conner
• From 9 p.m. Saturday until 8 a.m. Sunday, the left and center lanes of westbound closed from Whittier to Conner
• From 8 a.m. until 9 p.m. Sunday, the left lane of eastbound I-94 closed from Nottingham to Lochmoor
• From 9 p.m. Sunday until 5 a.m. Monday, the left and center lanes of eastbound I-94 closed from Nottingham to Lochmoor
• From 8 a.m. until 9 p.m. Sunday, the left lane of westbound I-94 closed from Whittier to Conner
• From 9 p.m. Sunday until 5 a.m. Monday, the left and center lanes of westbound I-94 closed from Whittier to Conner

In Detroit, the right lane of westbound I-94 will be closed at Mt Elliot from 8 p.m. Friday until 8 p.m. Saturday for ramp paving.

I-96:

In Oakland County, the right lane of westbound I-96 will be closed from Milford to Kent Lake roads from 7 a.m. until 5 p.m. Saturday for ongoing bridge work.

In Oakland County, the right lane of eastbound I-96 will be closed from Kent Lake to Milford roads from 7 a.m. until 5 p.m. Sunday for ongoing bridge work.

M-39 (Southfield Freeway):

In Detroit, the right lane of southbound M-39 will be closed from Pembroke to Schoolcraft from 7 a.m. Saturday until 5 a.m. Monday for ongoing bridge work.

M-59:

In Oakland County, westbound M-59 will have a single lane open from Crooks to Opdyke roads from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m. on Sunday for ongoing resurfacing. In addition, the following ramps will be closed:

• Westbound M-59 ramp to northbound I-75 closed from noon until 3 p.m.
• Adams Road entrance ramp to westbound M-59 closed from 6 a.m. until 9 a.m.
• Squirrel Road entrance ramp to westbound M-59 closed from 9 a.m. until noon

For the week of Oct. 24, in Macomb County the Schoenherr Road overpass above I-696 will be closed from 11 p.m. Monday until 5 a.m. Tuesday for bridge repair.
