Tigers And White Sox Postponed
CHICAGO (AP) — Thursday night's series finale between the Detroit Tigers and Chicago White Sox has been postponed by rain.
The game was called after a little more than an hour's delay. It will be made up on Monday, Sept. 17 at 1:10 p.m. at U.S. Cellular Field.
The AL Central leading White Sox won the opener of the four-game series before the Tigers took the next two. Chicago has a one-game lead in the division.
Aces Justin Verlander of the Tigers and Chris Sale of the White Sox were scheduled to pitch Thursday night but neither warmed up.
The White Sox now go to Minnesota and Detroit heads to Cleveland before returning to Chicago on Monday to play their final regular-season. Detroit leads the series 12-5.
