Tickets Available For Gov. Rick Snyder's Inauguration Gala

LANSING (WWJ) - Gov. Rick Snyder's inauguration gala will be Jan. 1 with the theme "Michigan: Relentless, Resilient, Reinvented."

The inauguration events begin with the official swearing in of the governor and Lt. Governor at noon on New Years Day on the steps of the state Capitol. The event is open to the public.

Following the swearing-in, Snyder will greet residents in a receiving line at 1:30 p.m.

"Our state has come a long way over the past four years and all Michiganders should be proud of our progress," Snyder said, in a media release. "There is still more reinvention yet to be done, but I invite everyone to come celebrate our work to build a strong, vibrant Michigan for everyone."

In addition, tickets for a black-tie optional gala are available for $150. The event takes place at 7 p.m. at the Lansing Center. [Buy tickets online and get more information HERE].
