Three Reasons Omar Infante Should Greatly Help The Tigers
By: Pat Caputo
1. He fills a glaring need at second base. Infante does everything pretty well. He has some power, good speed and is a decent fielder.
2. He is versatile. Infante can play shortstop and the outfield. He made the All Star Game in 2010 when he played for the Atlanta Braves as a utility player.
3. He is a right-handed hitter, and the Tigers needed another one badly. As recently as 2010, Infante was the third-leading hitter in the National League with a .321 average.
