1. They ripped the heart out of baseball in this town when they upset the Tigers in the 1987 American League Championship Series. It took the Tigers nearly two decades to recover from it.
2. Doesn't matter if Detroit's manager is Sparky Anderson or Jim Leyland, or if Minnesota's manager is Tom Kelly or Ron Gardenhire, the Tigers somehow are always outsmarted by the Twins.
