Three Degrees Of Pat Caputo- Factors That Stood Out During The Lions' Preseason Opener At Pittsburgh

Three factors that stood out during the Lions' preseason opener at Pittsburgh:
 
1. The defensive line was really good. Cliff Avril has talent, and it finally showed on a sack. Kyle Vanden Bosch played exceptionally well. Ndamukong Suh was hardly overwhelmed, standing up well to double teams.
 
2. Jahvid Best has a chance to be a terrific football player. That much was obvious. But that dropped pass was alarming. He can't be that bad of a receiver, can he?
 
3. The Lions are still mistake prone - a long gain called back because of a penalty, a fair catch on a punt at their own 3-yard line, other "little things" going wrong.
