"Thank You Good Criminal For Returning The Urn" Says Best Friend Of Fallen Soldier

LIVONIA (WWJ) - A sigh of relief as a stolen urn containing the remains of a soldier killed in Afghanistan is returned.

Livonia police have confirmed that the missing urn containing the remains of fallen soldier Brian Backus has been found in a neighborhood not far from Backus' best friend, Corporal Mike Oliver.

The urn was discovered on a landscaping rock in the neighborhood of Oliver's family.

The urn of Backus was stolen from Oliver's  2012 white Ford Mustang, July 8, in Livonia. Police say the urn will be returned to Oliver in Fort Brag, Kentucky where he is presently serving in the U.S. Army.

"Thank you good criminal for returning the urn," said Corporal Mike Oliver.

Crimestoppers had offered a cash reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to the arrest of whoever stole the urn.
