Terry Foster: What I Would Do If I Won The Powerball

I am so excited. This is a big day for me because I am going to hit the Powerball lottery tonight.
That means I will be worth $1.4 billion. Are you excited for me? I sure am thrilled.
I already have the rest of my life planned.
I will put all the money in the bank. I do not need to do any wild investments. Besides, I will already have about $750 million coming to me over the next 20 years. I do not need to invest. Why? And why not take the lump sum? I plan on being here the next 20 years and why have the temptation of blowing the money in a couple years? I can't live off $30 million a year?
** If you are a close friend you get $50,000. That's it. Do not ask for any more. My guy will meet with your person and we will settle it this year. If you are a distant person and you are cool with me you get $20,000. That's it. I will treat you to my annual party where we can celebrate and toast a new year.
** Mom. You get your dream house and a personal assistant.
** Kids you are set for life. There is one catch. You must complete college and you must promise to work for at least 20 years. You are rich, but you will not be rich bums.
** Wife, you are with me. We will be like the royal couple of Detroit.
** I am not leaving the Detroit area. I am also not buying a 40,000 square foot mansion. The house will cap at $2 million. That is all I need.
** I am hiring a personal chef who will make cool and healthy dishes.
** I will open a business in Detroit. I do not know what it will be yet. Give me a break. I just became a millionaire. But it will be a business that helps the inner city and give a few people hope for the future. I do not want to build a park that might be destroyed. I want people working.
** I plan on seeing the world. My first stops are China, Japan, Australia, France and Canada. I want to see what is up with our neighbors to the north. And I will do a quick tour of San Francisco, Seattle and New York, three of my favorite cities in the United States. By the way I will fly commercial. No private jets for me.
** I will be a Tigers season ticket holder. I love watching baseball outside and enjoying a brew or two.
** You will also see me at Lions, Red Wings and Pistons games. No suite for me. I want to watch from the stands and feel the rush of the crowd.
** I will hit one University of Michigan and one Michigan State football road trip a year. I will attend the Central Michigan-Western Michigan football game every year. Go Chips!
** CMU gets a new journalism department. Thank you for jump starting my career.
** And finally I will quit radio. I already have the letter of resignation written. Sorry Mike. I think you understand. You would do the same.
** And if the impossible happens and I do not win the Powerball then it is business as usual. You can listen to me Thursday on 9.71 FM The Ticket after my dream dies.
