Teen Thieves Caught With Watch Worth $17K
TROY (WWJ) - Two people have been arrested in Troy, accused of trying to steal an expensive watch.
Police said a 17-year boy from Detroit and a 19-year old woman from Warren entered MJ Diamonds on West 14 Mile Road last Friday and asked to see watches.
Police said the boy put a $17,000 timekeeper on his wrist. He and the woman fled the store, jumping into a silver Oldsmobile Alero.
Store employees chased them, got their license plate number, and Warren police tracked them down a short time later.
The watch was recovered.
Both were charged with retail fraud.
