DETROIT (WWJ) - Detroit-born rocker Ted Nugent says he's met the Secret Service over his controversial comments at an National Rifle Association convention last weekend. According to the so-called Motor City Madman, the meeting could not have gone better.
On his website, Nugent says it was a good solid, professional meeting in Oklahoma where he told the agents he never made any real threats of violence. He said it ended with a handshake and him thanking the agents for their service.
Nugent came under fire for saying he would be "dead or in jail by this time next year" if President Obama is re-elected. In a video that has been getting a urging the NRA crowd to chop their heads off in November."
Nugent said he was speaking in metaphors.
A Secret Service spokesman talking to the Washington Post said that after the interview, "the issue has been resolved," and the agency "does not anticipate any further action."
