Students Suspended For Riding Bikes To School

WALKER (AP) - Sixty-five students at a West Michigan high school were suspended for riding bikes to school on the last day of their senior year without informing administrators.

The Kenowa Hills High School seniors had police escorts during the ride. And parents lined the 3-mile route, taking pictures and cheering for their sons and daughters.

The problem is: Nobody told Principal Katie Pennington.

She suspended the students, citing safety concerns.

As a result, the students missed their traditional "senior walk," which is a last chance to pass through Kenowa High's halls and say goodbye to teachers and underclassmen.

MLive.com reports district administrators announced Tuesday the suspended students would have a second chance at their "senior walk" May 30 and still will be allowed to walk at graduation.
