Stafford Fought Through Sickness To Take Down Saints

Matthew Stafford played like a man possessed on Sunday, completing 30 of 42 passes for 341 yards and two touchdowns in the Lions 28-13 win over the Saints.
But his performance belied his health.
According to Golden Tate, the Lions quarterback was under the weather prior to the game.
"He got into the facility this morning and said he wasn't feeling very well. That's something he'll probably tell you guys, but that just shows what type of heart he has. I mean, this guy just found a way -- I don't know what it was, head cold or something -- but just found a way," said Tate, according to MLive.com.
Tate heaped praise on Stafford in his on-field interview after the game, calling him a "stud" and a "bad man."
"I can't say enough good things about him," Tate gushed.
Stafford, for his part, downplayed the sickness, suggesting Tate gave him more credit than he deserved.
"I was OK. He's making a bigger deal out of it than what it is," he told MLive. "Listen, anytime you can get a win in this place is awesome. Just happy to do my part."
Stafford has won his past three games against the Saints, the latter two coming in the Superdome.
