Sentencing For Former Detroit Pension Trustee Connected To Ex-Mayor's Corruption Case

DETROIT (WWJ) - A former Detroit pension trustee is being sentenced Monday for his role in the public corruption case that knocked Kwame Kilpatrick from public office.

Jeffrey Beasley was convicted in December of running a kickback scheme that cost Detroit's pension funds nearly one hundred million dollars.

He and the former Detroit mayor are fraternity brothers. Investment adviser Chauncey Mayfield and former city council staff member George Stanton also await sentencing early next month for their roles in the scandal.
