Roseville Man In Critical Condition After Driveway Shooting

ROSEVILLE (WWJ) - A 33-year-old Roseville man is in critical condition after he was shot while trying to move cars around in his driveway.

Police Chief James Berlin said the incident happened around 6:10 a.m. Thursday in the 26000 block of Lehner Street, near Frazho and Hayes roads.

"He went out to the driveway to move his car out of the drive to allow his wife to be able to get her vehicle out," Berlin said.

Moments after the man went outside, his wife heard a loud noise and ran to the window to see what happened.

"She heard a loud bang, looked outside and saw her husband lying down in the driveway. She ran to his aid and discovered he had been shot one time in the chest," Berlin said.

The man was rushed to a local hospital where he was last listed in critical condition. His name was not immediately released.

Berlin said investigators remain on the scene, trying to piece together exactly what happened.

"We have no motive for the shooting at this time. We don't know if it's a robbery gone bad or if it's some other reason for this to occur," he said.

Anyone with information is urged to contact the Roseville Police Department at 586-447-4483 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-SPEAK-UP.
