Report: Chick-fil-A Planning Big Expansion In Michigan

DETROIT (WWJ) - Chick-fil-A is cooking up more locations in Michigan.

The Atlanta-based fast-food chain will break ground April 19th on its first free-standing restaurant in the state -- but that's not all.

Chick-fil-A also says it plans to open a location inside the Somerset Collection in Troy by the end of 2016 and plans for the future, according to an Mlive.com report, include opening as many as 20 new Michigan locations within the next five years. Possible locations include Metro Detroit, Grand Rapids, Kalamazoo and Lansing.

Currently, there are just two Chick-fil-A locations in the state -- at Detroit Metro Airport and Oakland University.
