Red Wings captain Nicklas Lidstrom To Make Decision In Few Weeks
Red Wings general manager Ken Holland is drawing up plans for next season's team, but he doesn't expect to get anything concrete done pending the decision of the team's biggest building block.
That would be Nicklas Lidstrom, the elite defenseman who is deciding whether to play or retire. The good news is, he'll be making his decision within a few weeks.
"Nick's told me he'll give me lots of time prior to July 1 when free agency starts," Holland said. "I met with him last week, and we talked about the team, and he said he'd give me lots of time before July 1 with his decision."
