Police Seize 11 Pounds Of Hash Candy

CASCO TOWNSHIP (AP) - Authorities have seized 11 pounds of candy bars made with hashish that were intended for sale at a Michigan concert.

The Allegan County Sheriff's Department said Thursday in a release that the 48 hash bars and 42 hash balls were found earlier this week in a motor home during a traffic stop in Casco Township, about 50 miles southwest of Grand Rapids.

The drugs were sent to the state police crime lab for tests.

The driver and a passenger are from Denver and were being held in the Allegan County Jail. They told police they were headed north to Rothbury for the Electric Forest Festival. Each candy bar and candy ball was to be sold for $5 at the concert.

The Allegan County prosecutor's office was reviewing the charges.
