Police Investigate Reported Human Remains On Playground
DETROIT (WWJ) - Some local kids got a pre-Halloween scare outside a school.
Detroit police and the Wayne County Medical Examiner were called to Bagley Elementary School Thursday to investigate after a young student discovered what he was thought were human remains on the playground.
Police officers rushed to the scene on Curtis St., between Wyoming and Livernois, to protect any possible evidence while they waited for the medical examiner to arrive.
A Detroit police spokesman talking to WWJ Newsradio 950 said authorities later determined that what the child had found in the ground were tree roots, not bones.
Class continues as usual at Bagley.
