Police: Drunk Men Fired Shots In Mobile Home Park
FRENCHTOWN TWP. (WWJ) - A personal protection order didn't stop a couple of drunk men from firing a shotgun near a Monroe County woman's home.
Michigan State Police arrested the two men late Tuesday night after the woman and neighbors in the Elizabeth Woods Mobile Home Park in Newport called 911 when they heard the gunshot. One of the men had a personal protection order served on him by a woman who was at the home.
Troopers say the men had blood alcohol levels about two and three times the legal level. The shotgun was found in the back seat of their vehicle.
The suspects, who are from Monroe and South Rockwood, are in jail and facing reckless discharge of a firearm, felonious assault, stalking, possession of a dangerous weapon and possession of a firearm while intoxicated.
No one in the mobile home park was hurt.
