The word "preseason" has become synonymous with "meaningless" in the National Football League.
And judging by the turnout — or the lack of it — Saturday at Ford Field (announced crowd of more than 36,000, but far fewer actually here), it's how this town has come to view it.
It was that 4-0 preseason in 2008 that got everybody so excited, followed by sixteen straight defeats in the regular season, don't you think?
