OWN WORST ENEMY

Is it the starting pitching????Maybe the lack of hitting with runners in scoring position. Or maybe, just maybe, the Tigers are playing bonehead baseball.
Over the past week you see it time and again. Runners getting picked off, or gunned down foolishly trying to turn a single into double, how about diving when it was clear the outfielder wasn't going to make the catch and the result is that the ball keeps going behind him. Major League Baseball is tough enough, but to make mental errors on a consistent basis makes it too easy for the other team. If the Tigers get beat by a better team...so be it, but to keep making stupid mistakes drives me up the wall.
The Angels came into the week end series having been swept by the Baltimore Orioles...now the Tampa Bay Rays come to Comerica Park to close out the homestand. Again...the opponent has been swept...this time by the Toronto Blue Jays. The Rays came within one out of being no hit by Toronto's Brenden Morrow. So with the Eastern Division beginning to tilt in favor of the Yankees, you can bet Tampa Bay will be loaded for bear when they face the Tigers.
The good news is that Carlos Guillen will rejoin the team this week. The question is, who will be sacrificed to make room on the roster?? My guess is Danny Worth. Not because he's a bad player, but Don Kelly has proven to be a versatile asset, and Will Rhymes is playing solid second base and is a good "slap" hitter. But then again....Jim Leyland has made a couple of surprising decisions this season, so it's really anyone's guess.
