LANSING -- On Valentine's Day, fans of Pure Michigan were invited to share their ideal Pure Michigan romantic weekend for an opportunity to win a trip for two to Mackinac Island.
The "Michigan in Love: Pin to Win" contest runs through Feb. 28, and includes airfare from anywhere nationwide, provided by American Airlines. A Michigan-built Buick will also be provided as transportation during the trip.
This is Pure Michigan's first Pinterest contest, and fans must follow Pure Michigan on Pinterest to be eligible.
The prize package includes a two-night stay at the Grand Hotel featuring the hotel's Touch of Romance package with champagne, fresh fruit and flowers. Guests will also enjoy a carriage ride to the Woods Restaurant during their stay.
"Grand Hotel is a huge supporter of the Pure Michigan brand and we appreciate the opportunity to partner with them on this promotion," said Grand Hotel President Dan Musser III. "For over 125 years Grand Hotel has been the location of romantic getaways and we look forward to hosting the winner to a memorable visit this season."
To enter, fans must create their own "Michigan in Love: Pin to Win" board by repining at least five pins from the Pure Michigan "Michigan in Love: Pin to Win" board. All pins must include the #puremichigan hashtag and pins of the contest graphic and a rental vehicle of choice from Buick are also required.
Once their board is complete, fans can share the link on the Pure Michigan Connect contest blog post. The winner will be selected at random from the shared boards.

Pure Michigan currently ranks in the top five destination marketing Pinterest pages in the country, with more than 5,000 followers and 31 boards. Pure Michigan continues to be one of the top-ranked state tourism agencies utilizing social media, most recently receiving a 2012 Mercury Award for top social media presence by the U.S. Travel Association and the National Council of State Tourism Directors.
