Murder Exam For Teens In Death Of Church Guard, 84
DETROIT (AP) — A preliminary examination is scheduled Thursday for two Detroit teenagers accused in the shooting death of an 84-year-old security guard outside a church where Bible study was taking place.
Fifteen-year-old Anthony Williams and 18-year-old Alandre Boone have been charged as adults with second-degree murder in Joseph Lewis' death May 9.
Lewis was sitting in a car outside Victory Way Assembly Church of God in Christ when he was attacked. He was shot during a struggle. Police found Lewis' gun still in its holster.
Police say robbery may have been the motive.
